You will join a strong team of highly skilled Towmasters, who since the function was introduced in mid seventies, has been in charge of more than 1800 rig moves. Key Responsibilities Before becoming a Towmaster you must successfully complete a training program, which, depending on your previous experience, will last approximately 18 months. During the training period you will be proficient in our rig’s marine systems, geotechnical issues, Maersk policies and procedures including the Maersk Values. Specifically, you will follow a Senior Towmaster and be involved in every step of a rig move – from the initial paper work at our head office to the actual rig move, lasting approximately 1- 4 weeks. As fully-fledged Towmaster, you will take charge of our drilling rigs during rig moves from one location to another. A Towmaster has the highest authority on board and is overall responsible for the safety of all persons on board. Besides rig moves, you will have ample opportunity to work on special marine related projects at our Head Office in Denmark or for our organisations worldwide. By nature, the job as Towmaster involves extensive travel activity - not always to a set schedule and not always as planned, so flexible and creative behaviour is vital. Who we are looking for You must be a citizen of an EU country as this is a governmental requirement when taking charge of a Danish flagged unit. You must be licensed Master Mariner backed by solid experience from a maritime position – including offshore experience from a drilling rig and/or anchor-handling vessel. DP license is an advantage. On a personal level, you are independent, goal oriented, responsible and safety conscious. It is crucial that you can make your own decisions far from the head office. With your excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you enjoy working closely with our customers worldwide and you know how to present your project and rig move procedures.
