Data Consultant, Data Science & Governance, Bagsvaerd Novozymes has embarked on a journey to enhance business and scientific productivity through better exploration of research data across the organization. Our goal is to increase the productivity of the global science community by providing seamless and intuitive access to research data and state of the art data analysis and visualization tools. To support us reaching our objectives we are currently looking for a Data Consultant to join the Data Science & Governance department, anchored in Scientific Data Management & Analysis within Novozymes Research. Novozymes has a strong foundation on traceability of key research data and management of our massive amounts of genomics data. We wish to leverage this foundation while enabling seamless integration to currently less managed data sources. As our new Data Consultant, you will play an important role in a Greenfield exercise of building a new data capture, aggregation and analysis platform for our global research community. Your will be involved in all development process steps of our new scientific data exploration platform from its infancy all the way to the operational product. This includes the full flow from understanding complex scientific data sources over building data flows and data repositories to generating insight from the data through analytical and visualization tools. You will quality assure your deliveries and help us instate adequate yet strong data governance principles. On this journey, you will build insight through which in the future you will play a central role in key data science activities anchored in the Novozymes research community. You will engage to prototype and solve specific data management challenges and ensure anchoring in our enterprise data management platform where relevant. You will support and empower users to create their own analytics. In this capacity you will be working closely with a community of data scientists and analysts that you will also help NZ develop and mature. Please expect some travel as part of your job. In this position you need to have: •Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, engineering, or relevant disciplines. Master Degree preferred. •5+ years of documented experience as data consultant, data engineer or software engineer within data-related areas. •Strong and documented knowledge of data warehousing, database systems (SQL, NO SQL potentially Hadoop), data modeling, ETL and BI tools, data analysis and visualization tools, and IT development •Documented knowledge about Scrum or similar agile development methodologies •A tenacious mind, be adaptable and demonstrate a passionate mind-set to drive for results.
