About the department Global Research Business Support is responsible for ensuring operational excellence across the entire research organisation. You will join a team of 11 dedicated employees who work within four different responsibility areas; Business Processes & Management Support, Research Project Planning & Portfolio Management, cLEAN® & Internal consulting and Capacity & Investments. You will be responsible for establishing and defining Outsourcing & Procurement as a new area of responsibility within Global Research Business Support. The job As the Outsourcing & Procurement Manager your primary task is to drive the development and implementation of a cross functional outsourcing strategy in Global Research. This includes establishing and maintaining agreements with external suppliers, as well as defining internal processes for e.g. Requests for Proposal. In collaboration with Corporate Procurement, Quality and Legal, you will handle contract drafting and negotiations across Global Research. As the Outsourcing & Procurement Manager you will additionally act as a procurement anchor in Global Research. You will define cross organisational procurement procedures and secure adequate coordination and involvement of relevant category managers from Corporate Procurement. A key focus for both outsourcing and procurement is to set up tools and reporting that will increase transparency and also evaluate the performance of suppliers and partners. You will build a strong network within the organisation and be able to further develop your skills. We expect you to actively take part in the continuous development of the department and contribute to a high performing team. Qualifications The ideal candidate has a strong scientific background and holds a degree within life science. You have at least 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and have previously worked with outsourcing management and associated processes including contract drafting and negotiations. You have a thorough understanding of the R&D value chain, and you possess a profound understanding of the drug development processes. You act on your own initiative and are able to drive and implement new processes and standards. You have a passion for your work and take pride in delivering on time and according to expected quality criteria. You handle stressful situations well and have strong social skills. You are an excellent communicator and you have previously demonstrated the ability to handle a broad set of internal and external stakeholders at all organisational levels.
