DTU Nanotech conducts cross-disciplinary research where micro- and nanotechnology is applied to a wide range of scientific disciplines as well as applications. The Nanoprobes group is a large and highly multi-cultural group, with different research branches focusing on biosensing, drug delivery and environmental monitoring. Responsibilities and tasks The Nanoprobes group at DTU Nanotech wishes to employ a postdoctoral researcher to work in a highly interdisciplinary project focusing on fabricating and applying hollow nanomechanical resonators in calorimetry, mass sensing and infrared spectrometry. The main tasks will be to study and develop manufacturing technologies for hollow resonators and apply these in the field of pharmaceutical science and biology. The work will be carried out in close collaboration with different research groups and, within the framework of the recently granted Center of Excellence - IDUN. The successful candidate will play a leading role in the nanomechanical resonator activities in the Nanoprobes group, interacting with several members working in different disciplines, such as biochemistry, biology, microfluidics, pharmacology and polymer science. The job involves co-supervision of Ph.D. and master students. Qualifications Candidates should have a PhD degree or equivalent. The ideal candidate holds a PhD in micro and nanofabrication and has a deep insight into how to realize, characterize and apply nanomechanical resonators. A strong background in cleanroom processing, lab-chip technologies, mechanical modelling and instrumentation is an advantage. Furthermore, a strong interest in nanomechancial sensors is required. We are looking for an independent researcher who works accurately and feels comfortable in a collaborative environment, and who is willing and qualified to take on a larger coordination role within fabrication and application of hollow nanomechanical resonators.
