If you have a solid background in medical writing & profound people management skills this job is your perfect match. In LEO Pharma we want to have a close dialogue and coaching between Managers and team members. As a result of our success and growth, our Medical Communication team has expanded. Now we split the team in two, and that is why we need you to make this operation a success.  Your primary responsibilities

Your overall goal is to ensure that your team delivers high-quality medical writing input to customers across the global organisation – within agreed timelines. To do so, you will have two main focus areas. One is to provide coaching and guidance. The other is to develop, motivate and inspire in order to generate team spirit and ongoing development for the employees individually. You will:

• Lead, motivate and develop – the team as a group and employees individually
• Provide coaching and guidance within your functional area to drug development projects
• Support development and implementation of new processes and systems

You will also be part of the leadership team in Biometrics, a function comprising medical writing, disclosure, data management, biostatistics, and statistical programming. Here you will contribute to setting the direction for the Biometrics function, and you will have a forum for constructive professional dialogue.

 Your competencies

You have an MSc or equivalent scientific university degree and at least 5 years’ of experience from working hands-on within regulatory medical writing in a pharmaceutical company or a CRO. Preferably, your experience is broad and involves regulatory documents at both the clinical trial level and the submission level. You have a good understanding of regulatory requirements and guidelines. Experience with publications or disclosure will be an advantage. You have some experience within people management and/or project management and are motivated by developing your skills as a positive enabler for your team. Related to this, you ideally have experience from working in an organisation under transformation, globalisation and growth.

To succeed, you must have a strong drive for results and be very good at collaboration. You also have a flexible mindset in order to ensure deliverables in a project organisation with multiple deadlines and priorities. Additionally, you have the communication skills needed to ensure excellent stakeholders management. As Manager you are open-minded and you can make people believe in succeeding as a team.

 The department and your new team

Biometrics comprises around 60 professionals. Currently, 15 of those are found in Medical Communication, comprising medical writers and clinical disclosure staff. Both will be growing over the coming years. Together, you and the current head of medical communication will head 15-20 professionals based at LEO Pharma’s headquarters in Ballerup, Greater Copenhagen or at LEO Pharma’s US office in Madison, New Jersey. The team members have different background, nationalities and level of experience. The common ground is the desire to deliver good medical communication to any target group all the way from the idea phase of a clinical trial through to reporting, disclosure, submission and beyond.
