Would you like to develop and execute trading strategies? Join us and become a Gas Trader on the Gas, Oil and Coal Trading Desk which is responsible for creating trading strategies and executing them in the market via Exchanges and/or OTC markets. You will be part of an ambitious and hard-working team of experienced energy traders. You will gain an understanding of commodity markets, as well as acquiring in-depth knowledge of the European gas markets, technical aspects such as upstream production, downstream optimisation, developments in LNG and cross-border flows amongst other skills required to become a successful trader. The department is part of Customers & Markets, which has 1600 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. We manage the production from our wind farms, power stations and oil & gas fields through to the energy exchanges and our customers in Northern Europe. In addition we distribute electricity and natural gas to businesses and private customers in Denmark. You will be based at our office in Virum in the Greater Copenhagen area. Areas of responsibility As a Gas Trader your primary work task will be to conduct research and analysis to support the outstanding trading performance of the desk, and to execute those strategies with skill and discipline in the wholesale energy markets. Furthermore, your key duties will be to: •develop trading strategies based on a combination of market knowledge, fundamental and technical analyses •execute the strategies in the market. Your profile You are newly educated with a degree and/or with relevant work experience. You have good programming skills (VBA etc) and a strong analytical mindset. It is important that you work in a structured and proactive manner and thrive in a dynamic environment. You must be able to adapt to changing market conditions and combine intuitive and rational decision-making. Finally, it is important that you are a strong team player and are willing to go the extra mile to achieve outstanding results.
