Your challenges
“The VELUX Group may be over 75 years old, but that doesn’t slow us down. We work strategically with our digital customer journey as a strong focal point, and we have great potential to explore since digital tools are on a steep rise across our value chain and with our customers. You will help us do so by exploring new technologies for digital business development,” says chief Andreas Klinke Johannsen.
Joining the Digital Business Development team in the global e-Business and Online Sales department in Hørsholm, you will meet 80 people from a wide mix of nationalities. And the department is growing! Together with four colleagues, you will master digital business development through strategic projects, POC’s and pilots. So exciting! (You really should start writing that application now.)
So, more specifically: You work with long-term vision – it’s about the future. You get your hands dirty with strategic projects – we've got to put our digital and commercial mark on them. You stumble across new technologies and think “hey, this could create value for the business” - you try it out. And we all know that your eye for commercial potential and your knack for knowing how business and digital technologies work together is just what is needed to:
- Find that digital business concept that can make a difference, dig in and develop a pilot and test with the market – and determine if this is a great success or a failure we can learn from
- Run projects! Team initiated or strategic projects that are initiated elsewhere in the organisation
- Be an awesome project member in strategic projects
- Find the external partner that will enable faster and better progress
- Deep-dive on mega trends! We need to research to collect, structure, analyse and describe applicable insights so that we can make recommendations on or develop the next big digital adventure
- Get that contribution to the overall digital go-to-market strategy nailed, including relevant distribution and sales channels plus relevant partners/networks
We have fun in the office, but we also have fun on the road! Be prepared to travel approximately 20 days per year, primarily in Europe. You will need this for projects or research, as you navigate a complex matrix organisation with stakeholders and fantastic colleagues of many, many different cultures.
Your qualifications
We already know you are innovative, agile, data-driven and entrepreneurial. Of course, we also need you to be passionate and curious about digital and new technologies like AI, automation, voice search, augmented reality, you-name-it. And because you’re curious, it doesn’t take long for you to test your findings and come up with concrete suggestions and solutions with commercial potential, right? Aside from passion and curiosity, we value experience more than anything! Which basically translates into:
- You have 2-4 years of experience, having fun exploring digital technology and business development from a start-up, a digital agency or a digital team within a larger company.
- You are completely on board with a commercial mindset and a strong business understanding.
- You are fluent in English (any kind, we promise we won’t hold your dialect against you).

You will be one of us, the new Digital Business Development team. We are two nice digital business development managers, a student assistant and a manager. We are solution orientated and opportunity seeking which we like to take them as a team – collaborative and transparent. We like having a natural sense of humour and enjoy our work.
We work closely with other teams in VELUX headquarters, local sales companies and our network of external partners.
