We are looking for a new Head of Department for Major Bridges in Copenhagen. The department is part of a newly established Global Division Major Crossings, which consists of teams and experts in Denmark, Norway, UK and India. The Global division works with challenging tunnel and bridge projects worldwide. The Major Crossings division covers all services within major tunnels and bridges from the early conceptual studies through to construction. Our primary customers are international contractors.

Your responsibilities as Head of department, Major Bridges
In your role as Head of Department you are exposed to market and customers in terms of your ability not only to set the strategic direction but also to execute on it. You thus become responsible for change management relation to existing and new markets and customers internationally, and how leads and new opportunities are materialized and exploited best possible. The department is facing an exciting change in form of becoming increasingly involved in international projects.

Some of your tasks include to:

• Set strategic direction and overall responsibility for prioritizing and targeting KPIs and focus areas
• Take part on business development and implementing the agreed strategies with a global leadership team
• Be responsible for marketing, offering and customer management
• Ensure well-being, commitment, knowledge sharing and high professionalism
• Motivate and maintain different professional groups and ensure continuous development and sparring with these
• Prioritize tasks and allocate resources in a dynamic everyday life
• Ensure that current and future strategic partnerships are prioritized
• Engage proactively in client relationship and client management

To succeed, it's important that you give your employees the tools to think and act commercially in the form of cross-selling. Your focus should always be on the activities that provides value. In addition, you must build and further develop internal and external customer relationships in close cooperation with other departments in Ramboll and the Major Crossings Leadership Team.

Due to international nature of the role we expect that you will share our global mindset, are willing to work in an international environment and are fluent in English. It is not a requirement that you speak Danish, but you are expected to be based in Denmark.

You and your competencies
We imagine that you come with a background as engineer where you have worked 10-15 years with large Infrastructure projects including Bridges and Tunnels. You have a professional approach to your work which allows you to deal with successes and conflicts in an equal manner, you have commercial experience in making outreach sales, proposal writing and contract negotiations, both in terms of economic and legal. Through your career you have worked on international projects where you have shown the ability to create close customer relationships in terms of your business and cultural understanding and ability to see new opportunities. Furthermore, you can document minimum 5-8 years’ experience with team and / or department management.

• Fluent in English, spoken as well as written.

Join the department, Major Bridges
You will be responsible for a department of approximately 20 employees who possess strong academic competence within major bridges, seismic design, aerodynamics and other relevant specialists Furthermore, you are also part of the international leadership team that coordinates business development in Major Crossings globally, a division that currently counts 140 employees. Our global network gives you an access to projects in Europe, Asia and Americas and a possibility to develop your skills in a truly international environment.
