Do you like the corrosion challenges of steel structures placed in an aggressive environment? And would you like to be part of the sustainable development of wind energy? Join us and become our new Corrosion Engineer in the Structural Design department within foundations and substructures for offshore wind turbine projects. The department’s tasks cover the entire design process for offshore structures within wind energy, from concept studies to final design. For existing structures, re-evaluations are made, such as lifetime assessments or design of improvements, if necessary. The department is part of Wind Power which has 1800 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. Wind Power is the world’s largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe. You will be based at our office in Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area. However, you should expect some travelling in relation to your work. Your key duties will be to •design corrosion protection systems on our new and existing offshore structures, mainly in Northern Europe •design and help install corrosion monitoring and assist in assessing the system performance on our structures •participate in research and development in the area, onshore and offshore, thereby increasing the competence level of the company and yourself •improve our knowledge regarding corrosion development and the corrosive state of our existing structures in close cooperation with our Lead Corrosion Specialist and our structural engineers •contribute to the design of corrosion protection for new builds, and improve our corrosion protection solutions. Your qualifications and core competences include that you •hold a master’s degree in engineering, material physics or another technical area at a similar level which is relevant to corrosion •have some years of experience within steel structures in offshore environment •through your degree and your work experience understand the physical and chemical details of corrosion and corrosion protection •are able to discuss the structural impacts from corrosion with the structural engineers •have a dedicated approach to your work, produce precise documentation and have good communication skills.
