Danfoss is growing and we are looking for a Chief Engineer, responsible for actuators, who will be working in the Hydronic Balancing and Control unit in Danfoss Heating Solutions division, characterized by entrepreneurial spirit, impressive results and ambitious global growth perspectives. Our mission is to develop, produce and supply products and solutions that contribute to reduced energy consumption and improved indoor comfort by creating the best possible balance and control in water based heating, cooling and hot water systems, in commercial and residential buildings. Reporting to the R&D Director located in Nordborg, Denmark, the Chief Engineer will become a part of an excellent international network of competent people, have global contacts inside and outside the company and wide opportunities of an elevated career path. The person will be responsible for technology lead in actuator concepts development and integration of future roadmaps. He/she will also be responsible for actuator technology in our products, and a technical signoff. Managing technical aspects regarding our strategic partners of mechanical concepts/solutions development you will ensure effective interface to strategic partners related to core mechanical actuator components (electrical motors, plastics, injection molding). Being responsible for effective technical product specification and qualification you will take care for application performance of our actuators. Ensuring product competiveness by mastering Design to Cost and conducting value driven approach with internal and external partners you will be able to actively pursue new technologies and/or patents. Based on your strong technical background and personality qualities you will transform basic research results to value added and proven technology – both in corporation with international research centers. You will be actively adding application awareness/intelligence to our actuators to enable fault detection and hydronic optimization. If you take our challenge your key tasks will be to: •Master design and development of the gear based actuator products •Direct activities of multiple internal and external partners with responsibility to meet broad general objectives •Drive and participate in internal and external design reviews •Identify product requirement and work with the engineering team in execution •Advise other engineers, managers, executives and customers The ideal person has an engineering educational background (University degree in mechanical engineering or mechatronics, Master Sc or PhD is advantage), strong knowledge and 5 years of experiences within R&D environment including technical lead and proven track record in driving application focused development projects. Person should be able to communicate detailed information logically and clearly and be proficient in English language skills.
