Do you have solid competences within product development and technical support (technical sales)? Are you a hardware or mechatronic engineer looking for an exciting and versatile job in an attractive growth area? Then you could be the new hardware engineer we are looking for in the Floor Heating business unit at Danfoss. We are offering a unique opportunity to become part of a small new Front End and Portfolio team, where your main task will be to drive and maintain the development of a new complete ambitious product portfolio of room controls, primarily for hydronic floor heating. You can expect an environment with a large degree of “freedom of thought”. You will be part of our Hydronic Floor Heating Front End & Application team consisting of four colleagues: an application expert, a technical writer, an R&D Manager and a hardware engineer (i.e. you). We are part of a large organisation, and our department depends on internal and external partners to realise our R&D tasks. We believe in creating an open and playful R&D environment Your overall mission will be to act as the “technical lead” on hardware development tasks, but you will also frequently have more application-related tasks in finding the right balance for various features together with our R&D team, and our internal stakeholders in sales and marketing. In addition, you will take part in building prototypes, creating proof of concept for new ideas, and help to facilitate various technology tasks (e.g. determine technical feasibility, calculate expected cost of various solutions, etc.). Moreover, your responsibilities will be to: •Drive ongoing development work on the new control portfolio •Maintain the new control portfolio once launched •Help to create new variants of the new portfolio (the portfolio is designed to allow a great degree of flexibility towards B2B customers) •Participate in making and maintaining the future product pipeline •Participate in new product development projects •Build prototypes and help establish proof of concept •Offer technical assistance towards supply chain (verify new components in end-of-life scenarios) and sparring with external R&D partners New product development experience You have an educational background within electronic or mechatronic engineering, and a proven track record within new product development. In addition, you are experienced in Orcad or similar PCB layout CAD tools. It will be an advantage if you have experience with: •Heating controls, PLCs, Smarthouse Solutions, BMS systems, wireless solutions/antenna design, measuring circuits and related issues •Prototyping via Raspberry Pi, Arduino, or similar developer tools •C+-programming, or simplified pseudo code / Boolean expressions •Control algorithms You can pursue ideas independently, and are not afraid of taking a leading role from time to time when the situation calls for a firm hand and a strong belief in “we can do this”. As a person, you love engineering challenges and have an open and flexible mind-set. You accept changes readily as we sometimes need you to solve tasks that are not directly associated with hardware design. We are a small department in a big organisation, and to succeed, you must be able to acquire new knowledge and be comfortable working outside your technical area. Moreover, you can work in a small team, but are also able to “go solo” when needed.
