About the department Diabetes Purification Development is part of Novo Nordisk Research & Development. Here you will find 40 highly skilled and motivated colleagues with a “can-do” attitude, who constantly challenge themselves to create and upscale robust purification processes. The department is responsible for purification process development within Novo Nordisk entire diabetes portfolio. Our main responsibility is to develop and strengthen purification processes from early production for non-clinical and clinical studies ending with process transfer to the area responsible for market production. We do so in close collaboration with multiple stakeholders including early research, analysis teams, regulatory affairs, pilot facilities and manufacturing areas. The job As our new team leader in purification development you will be heading a research group responsible for development of purification processes for new insulins and obesity products. In addition, the team is responsible for delivering non-clinical and technical productions from our small pilot facility. The team consists of 18 lab technicians, scientist, project managers and specialists. You will be a part of a strong management team in Diabetes API Development and your responsibility is to ensure team deliverables and support the team members to fulfill their potential. It will be your task to drive the planning and prioritization between projects in close collaboration with stakeholders, and we expect you to drive projects relevant for maintaining and developing productivity of the team. With your quality and innovation mindset, you set direction for the team ensuring that it is supporting the requirements from the projects and authorities. Qualifications You hold a PhD or master degree as chemical engineer, cand. scient or similar. You have a solid background from a pharmaceutical/life science R&D or manufacturing organization and you possess knowledge of protein chemistry and purification development. Preferably you have management experience and act as competent sparring partner to your team - coaching and empowering employees to deliver excellent scientific results and to take responsibility for their own professional and personal development. You lead and embrace changes and exhibit a structured and convincing approach to transitioning people and organizations from current to desired state. In addition to this, you are able to spur enthusiasm and energy around you, and you possess strong networking and interpersonal skills. Commitment to science and its industrial application, excellent communication skills, positive attitude and being a team player is expected from you.
