PhD scholarship: Computational Study of the Solid Electrolyte Interface Formation on Single Crystal Surfaces

We are currently looking for a PhD-student to work in the field of theoretical surface science and electrocatalysis at the Center for Atomic-scale Materials Design (CAMD) at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). The research project will be carried out in the group of Associate Professor Jan Rossmeisl in an inspiring, international, and dynamic research environment. The group is part of a larger network of research groups in the Lyngby area North of Copenhagen. The project is a part of a large collaboration focusing on understanding the formation of the solid-electrolyte interface on single crystal surfaces. This is part of an international collaboration funded by BMW. The position is available for three years with start January 1, 2015, and we would like the accepted candidate to commence the project as soon as possible thereafter. Qualifications We are looking for a person with a background in theoretical physics/chemistry who has an interest in atomic-scale modelling. Candidates should have a master's degree in engineering or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to the master's degree in engineering with a good result and with a high average grade. Approval and Enrolment The scholarships for the PhD degree are subject to academic approval, and the candidates will be enrolled in one of the general degree programmes of DTU. Assessment The assessment of the applicants will be made by Jan Rossmeisl. Salary and appointment terms The salary and appointment terms are consistent with the current rules for PhD degree students.
