Key Responsibilities The Structures Department provides specialist technical supports to other departments; is responsible for structural integrity and assessment of new and existing structures; preparation of inspection plans, ultimately leading to lifetime extension as well as development of calculation methods and design criteria. Structural engineering activities are typically performed by external design houses; however, the work is defined, project managed and coordinated by you in-house in the Structural Department. Your typical daily tasks will be a combination of: • Front-end and detailed design of steel structures, integrity management and evaluation of structures in operation. • Ensuring that the work provided by contractors meets specifications, relevant national and international codes and standards. • Ensuring that the quality of the work-scopes is of the highest standard and that all tasks and targets are achieved within the project schedule/milestones. • Assisting and participating in project decisions. • Day-to-day support to the technical division on structural issues. Who we are looking for As a successful candidate you must be a team player experienced within structural design. You must be able to have more than one job assignment at your desk at the same time. Adding to that, you consistently achieve project goals via your strong skills to plan and organise. The preferential candidate should have professional experience within some of the below areas: • Detailed design and assessment of offshore structures. • Analyses of space frame structures. • Finite element analyses, e.g. with the aim to determine stress concentrations and ultimate capacity of complex structural details. • Foundation assessments and geotechnical knowledge. • Fatigue calculations. • Wind and wave action. • Offshore design codes (especially ISO 19902 and Eurocodes) and good practice design solutions. • Experience with detailing lifting and handling procedures. • Transport and Installation engineering (rigging, lift, load-out, sea fastening, transportation and lift). • Technical project management working with and managing engineering and contracting companies. • You must be confident in spoken and written English and Danish will be an advantage • Hold a relevant Master of Science (M.Sc.) or B.Sc. education within Structural Engineering Last application date: 03 November 2015 Apply:https://jobsearch.maersk.com/vacancies/publication?pinst=005056A569991ED59EA9B97884F49DED Maersk Oil is proud of its 40-year track record finding and developing oil and gas with partners globally.
