What do we offer?
This is your chance to ensure world-class shipping activities in a company that solves the world's water and energy challenges through innovation. Based in Denmark or Nederland, you will have the opportunity to work with leadership in an international environment and gain a huge contact base.
You step into the Global Transport and Compliance department where you head up shipping teams in Denmark, Germany, Nederland and France. Working with a broad network, you will also act as focal point in developing European logistics providers. You refer to Global Shipping Manager, Flemming Nordentoft.
What is the job about?
Overall, you ensure stable operations by managing the daily execution of our European shipping activities according to agreed plans and service levels. Moreover, you drive the development of your shipping team, ensuring that they have the necessary capabilities to support performance management and continuous improvements. In coordination with Group Logistics and local management, you set and execute the transport strategy. Specifically, you:
- Manage a team of shipping assistants at the French site, while coaching and leading through team leaders at the other two locations (Germany and Denmark). The Location in Nederland is operated by a third party (3PL)
- Identify and deploy best practice by implementing global processes and maintaining alignment of services to support customers
- Manage and coordinate the distribution for local production - both inbound from suppliers, within local production and outbound to customers
- Maintain our Service Level Agreements, communicate to sales, customers and subsidiaries
- Ensure compliance with customs for import and export
- Ensure that we deliver according to our cost budget
The work place could be at any of the following locations: Bjerringbro, Denmark or Amsterdam, Netherlands.
What do you need to apply?
Your leadership experience combined with your communication and interpersonal skills enable you to lead and motivate your team. Ideally, you have worked in an international environment, allowing you to manage and lead people across cultures and borders and at different levels. In addition, you:
- Have a relevant logistics background backed by at least three years of people management experience
- Have continuous improvement experience, building up improvement plans for delivery performance
- Have strong stakeholder management skills, allowing you to create relationships both internally and externally
- Are accountable, so that you proactively seek out solutions and carry them out when you come across a challenge
- Are ready to travel 20-30 days per year, and you communicate effortlessly in English
