Copenhagen Local/International Finance/Economics Ref.: MO-048855 As Portfolio Economist within Maersk Oil, Financial Planning & Portfolio Analysis, you will play a central role in creating the strong numerical and analytical foundation that provides Senior Management with the best possible basis for value creating decision-making. We Offer This position offers a unique opportunity to get an in-depth understanding and overview of Maersk Oil’s entire portfolio and impact the portfolio decisions being made by Senior Management. You will be working with both Economics and Finance and play a key role in tying it together in our long term forecasts. This will provide you with challenges ranging from fiscal regime understanding, balance sheet optimization, tax strategies and portfolio analysis. At the same time, you will be deeply involved in managing a smooth transition from the current Excel based models to a more sophisticated suite of software applications (Palantir) – a high priority project within Maersk Oil that will take Portfolio Analysis and Financial Planning to the next level. You will be part of a dynamic team that is responsible for the long term financial forecasting and analysis, which gives you a central position in the organization working with stakeholders across the globe and within a variety functions. Key Responsibilities You primary tasks will include: •Driving the annual long term financial forecasting process, covering both Cash Flow, P&L and Balance Sheet perspectives •Preparing quarterly portfolio updates for Senior Management •Managing the existing Portfolio Model and ensuring a smooth transition from Excel to the selected software application, Palantir •Lead and coordinate investment follow-ups •Contribute to ad hoc portfolio analysis for Senior Management •Build strong working relationships with other Maersk Oil stakeholders and the A.P. Møller-Maersk Group. Who we are looking for We are looking for a candidate with a passion for numbers who is able to focus on details whilst maintaining an overview, enabling you to communicate efficiently with stakeholders and Senior Management. We expect you to have a Master’s Degree in Finance/Economics (e.g. cand.merc.fir) and a minimum of 5 years working experience with a proven track record within portfolio analysis from a larger enterprise. Expert knowledge of Cash Flow, P&L and Balance Sheet matters is a requirement while upstream oil and gas experience is a plus, but not a must. You have excellent MS Office skills and experience with Economic/Finance Software. You must have strong analytical skills and be an effective communicator in both written and spoken English. You are selfdriven and enjoy the combination of teamwork in the larger processes and working independently on portfolio tasks.
