Micro-mechanical development for medical devices In your new job you will be part of Oticon Medical R&D consisting of three different development sites: Smørum in Denmark, Gothenborg in Sweden, and Vallauris on the French Rivera. You will be working in a multi-disciplinary product development team together with mechanical engineers, hardware designers, audiologists, embedded system designers and software developers. Interaction with development teams at other Oticon Medical sites, with internal and external subcontractors and with production facilities, will be a natural part of your daily routine. Duties and Responsibilities As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will bring products to the medical device market from idea generation to final production. You will work with industrial design and usability with a primary focus on the design of sound processors, small ear-level, wearable audio devices, manufactured using polymer injection molding and small metal structures. Your key responsibilities will include: Micro-mechanical design – from requirements and concepts to products running in production Idea creation and design development 3D CAD modeling – we use PTC Creo Cost and production optimization of designs Design documentation and design reviews Ensuring regulatory compliance of materials and designs Interaction with: ?Internal and external functions ?Purchasing ?Production ?Industrial designer Address resource bottlenecks in team and with stakeholders Provide relevant documentation including: ?Risk analysis ?Drive mechanical FMEA activities ?Requirement specification. Furthermore, you will have easy access to a vast pool of designs and knowledge from platform development teams in the William Demant Group. Experienced Mechanical Engineer We expect you to hold a B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and have at least 5 years of relevant experience. We expect you to be experienced in 3D drawings in programs such as CAD, Pro-E or similar. Furthermore, it is an advantage if you have experience from medical or electronic device development. You are experienced in product development with a clear focus on customer needs, and you are motivated by working in cross-functional development teams. As a person you are an efficient networker who quickly adapts to the varying projects you are working on. You have good communication skills and are a team player by heart. You are dedicated about your work, are self-managed and constantly focused on your goals. You enjoy working with colleagues from other cultures and are therefore expected to write and speak English.
