Copenhagen Local/International Drilling Ref.: MO-047970 The Lead Drilling Engineer will take up a team lead position in the Drilling Department in Maersk Oil's Copenhagen based office, leading an international group of 4-6 drilling engineers. In close corporation with the Drilling Engineering Manager and the entire drilling team you will have a key role in taking Maersk Oil to the next level of successfully running a safe and efficient operation We Offer We offer you a team lead challenge where current technologies employed include multilateral wells, expandable liner, drilling-with-casing, stress caging, fibre glass liner, state of the art LWD and more. Keeping abreast of emerging new technologies and bringing them forth for incorporation into well designs and operations is a key objective for your team. You and your team will be responsible for the early planning phases until an endorsed and robust well design is in place. You will be looking after a broad spectre of projects from vertical HPHT exploration to long horizontal development wells in a brown field environment and your team will have a large degree of freedom of maturing and implementing ideas to further improve our operation. Key Responsibilities You will be ensuring a consistent approach across the different projects in your team as well as liaising with other teams to guarantee that learnings and best practises are captured, shared and incorporated in the planning. For the projects matured in your team, you will be providing challenge and support where required to ensure the quality of the well designs including mapping of risks and contingency planning. In addition to providing guidance for your team, you will also be maturing projects of your own and give support to development of procedures and standards both on local and corporate level. Further tasks carried out in your team include technical input to and evaluation of tenders, development of cost estimates and daily technical support to the operations team. Who we are looking for The new Lead Drilling Engineer must have an engineering degree or other higher technical educational background. A minimum of 10 years experience in the oil industry is considered a must, and the main part of this should be in a capacity as Senior Drilling Engineer or similar. To achieve our goals we are looking for a team player who also has strong abilities to make the most out of a team by carefully mentoring and constantly encouraging the team to improve in performance.
