For our Strategic Procurement organization within Service Supply Chain, we are looking for a Global Category Manager with the ambition to set the standards by building state-of-the-art supplier relations and manage a significant spend within the commodity / commodities in question. Reporting to the Head of Global Strategic Procurement, you will join a team of dedicated colleagues who not only work with suppliers from all over the world but have a major influence on the future setup of the entire supply chain organization. What are my responsibilities? As a Global Category Manager, you will be responsible for a global team with the task of ensuring the best supplier set-up and material flow within a specific commodity (or more) globally. You will manage a substantial budget and be responsible for defining, redefining and implementing procurement strategies and strategic initiatives together with the suppliers. More specifically, work assignments will cover: · Develop and implementing a commodity as well as a supplier strategy of the commodities in scope · Define and implement strategic procurement projects using your global team (e.g. regionalization projects of suppliers or change of logistical setup). · Drive cost-out initiatives together with other parts of the global SCM organization and Technology. · Be the main contact person for SCM management in relation to the relevant commodities · Identify new suppliers and ensuring a maintained global supplier base within the commodities in question · Build supplier relations by driving the supplier development within the designated commodities. Incl. conducting professional and successful contract and price negotiations and managing the further supplier development (at CEO level) · Ensure Siemens Wind Power Service’ overall competitiveness by focusing on the entire value chain. What do I need to qualify for this job? · You have a master degree and extensive experience with SCM in general and procurement in particular (at minimum 5 years of proven experience in commodity / category management from a large, multinational manufacturing company). Your background has provided you with a diverse set of tools used within SCM and a holistic approach in terms of looking at the entire value chain when making decisions. Your background makes you capable of challenging the current state of affairs and bringing procurement to the next level. · You have a strong leadership profile and excel in managing others directly as well as indirectly. You posses the ability to navigate freely in a large complex organization with multiple, global interfaces. You know exactly how to insert influence at all levels of an organization and communicate well at all levels using different medias (i.e. the entire span from face-to-face interaction to doing important presentations in front of a big audience) You are highly target oriented, motivated by challenges and you hold a high level of energy. You have an analytical mindset and work persistently and focused towards achieving your and your team’s goals. · You possess excellent communication and English skills verbally as well as in in writing. · Extensive skills in the office package.
