About this job As a front-end engineer at issuu, you will be joining a team of highly skilled web enthusiasts building web applications in an agile environment. We currently develop for desktops, tablets over mobile web and native apps. This requires great responsive sites that ensure the best possible user experience on all platforms. We are proud of running a NodeJS/Express server in a production system that serves billions of pages every month. Our client-side applications are a mix of vanilla JavaScript, small BackboneJS apps and a highly customized version of Twitter Bootstrap. Sass enables us to keep our CSS well structured. As our ideal candidate, you are excited about HTML5 features like SVG and are on the pulse of new developments in browser technology. Chrome's Developer Tools are your best friend, but you are aware of other browsers out there. In a system the size of issuu, code maintainability is just as important as accessibility. That also means that you are willing to share your code with other people or sit together for pair-progamming sessions.
