We are looking for experienced engineers who can strengthen our system engineering capabilities ranging from defining requirements to validating product design. About the department Device Research is part of the overall Research and Development (R&D) organisation and we are responsible for carrying out early innovation and development of next generation medical devices for insulin administration. We have a long and outstanding track-record of developing the best, most innovative and widely used injection devices in the world. We work close together with cross functional stakeholders within Novo Nordisk as well as external partners. User needs and user insights are key inputs in our development cycle in order for us to make sure we develop what is needed. The position The responsibilities of the systems engineer include establishment of user and product requirements, integration of requirements in the robustness process, overall responsibility for design verification and design validation activities. The job will enhance your professional and personal development, providing you with an opportunity to further develop your skills within specialist expertise and project management. The systems engineer plays a key role in shaping the architecture of the device, making trade-offs between mechanics, hardware and software to ensure an end-result that is user friendly, safe and suitable for mass production. Close cooperation with the lead engineer, the risk manager and the human factors engineer of the project is essential and you will actively participate in detailed technical discussions with all team members. The team members consist of dedicated developers. Our external collaboration partners are supporting the project and you need to ensure that they are informed and aligned on the system aspects of the project. Qualifications You hold an academic degree within Engineering with at least 3 years of experience with requirement management and/or system engineering. Your experience preferably comes from either pharma, automotive, aerospace, energy or other industries where quality and regulatory compliance is vital to succeed. You have experiences with one or more of the following processes: definition of technical product requirements, architectural design, complexity management, low power integrated mechatronics systems, safety risk management and/or verification and validation. You have the ability to analyse and understand complex structures and systems, and communicate them in a comprehensible way. You can work independently while still maintaining close cooperation across the team and with stakeholders, being an excellent team player. You have a constructive and positive mind set. You are well-organised, structured and result oriented. Proficiency in oral and written English is essential.
