The Danish Technological Institute in Odense is currently seeking a new developer to develop, optimise and deploy innovative automation solutions in close collaboration with our customers. Working in the field of computer vision, you will participate in R&D projects together with leading European companies and research institutions, using and implementing the results in specific customer assignments. Development of computer-vision solutions As our new developer, you will primarily be charged with developing innovative solutions for the areas of industrial quality inspection, classification and vision-guided robotics control, working across sectors and collaborating closely with knowledge institutions, integrators and systems suppliers. You will join a team of 5 other vision experts, and your assignments will include algorithm and software development, system design, (incl. selection of camera, lighting and other sensors/hardware) and developing and constructing demonstrators. Specifically, you will tasked with the following: •Applying for and creating new and innovative projects together with national and international companies and research partners •Participating in R&D projects as a developer, preferably as project manager •Ensuring that development projects are translated into usable solutions within the market •Developing demonstrations, prototypes and customer solutions – from concept to implementation •Communicating, using and passing down the amassed expertise to the user through, e.g., workshops, courses and conferences •Establishing and expanding networks with international research partners through your participation in international projects, conferences and trade fairs Computer-vision engineer We welcome all applications from qualified (up to PhD level) engineers who possess a computer-vision background or have equivalent experience with research-related work. Applicants must be conversant with C++, and it is preferable that you have experience of OpenCV and Halcon and/or similar commercial computer-vision software libraries. Additionally, we expect you to have a solid knowledge of and interest in one of more of the following: •Industrial machine vision, real-time systems •Feature detection and segmentation •Classification •Machine learning, neural network, deep learning 3D imaging •Camera technology, lighting, thermography, hyperspectral cameras The successful applicant will join a highly innovative environment working at the cutting edge of technological development; consequently, we expect you to take personal initiative in exploring new business opportunities. As well working with the team, you should also be capable of working independently in order to meet your project goals.
