In Global Development, we lead the clinical activities from entering a clinical testing through the submission and approval phase and when the drug has entered the market. Our responsibility is to provide medical and scientific documentation for the clinical benefit-risk evaluation that is part of submission packages to authorities and which form the basis for guidance on how to use the medicines optimally to the benefit of patients. We are +1,100 employees covering profiles such as trial managers, medical doctors, data managers, biostatisticians and many others. We conduct clinical trials in more than 50 countries and in 2014 we collaborated with approximately 40.000 patients across 135 clinical trials. Scope of the programme The two-year programme will consist of three rotations in different parts of the Novo Nordisk organisation or areas with strong ties to Global Development - but anchored in the Biostatistics skill area. The aim of the Biostatistics Graduate Programme is to develop you through extensive practical statistical work with a strong focus on competencies such as analytical skills, communication and project management skills. You will be given a broad range of biostatistics responsibilities and experience a variety of tasks in a cross-disciplinary and a cross-organisational global setting. You will enjoy the privilege of being part of both formal and informal graduate networks. This will allow you to broaden your learning even further, while building your opportunities and relationships across the company. The job The Biostatistics Graduate Programme is tailored to ensure your full personal and professional development, accelerated by prioritised training and dedicated coaching from experienced colleagues. The programme comprises three 8-month rotations during a two-year period. The first rotation is planned to take place in a sub-department under Biostatistics in our corporate headquarter in Denmark. The main purpose is to obtain an understanding of the Biostatistics areas of responsibilities, and to gain hands-on experience with biostatistics tasks. You will, for example, take part in analysing and reporting one of our clinical trials or you will be involved in the design of new clinical trials. The second rotation is planned to be in an affiliate outside of Denmark. At this rotation you will be further exposed to application of biostatistics in the pharmaceutical industry. This will give you a unique international perspective that will prove invaluable as new markets continue to evolve for Novo Nordisk. The third rotation will take place at headquarters in Denmark in a department with ties to Biostatistics. Possible areas could for instance be Data Management, Global Safety, Market Access or Medical Affairs. This will help build your network, provide broader insight into clinical development and showcase the importance of biostatistics within other areas in drug development and drug commercialisation. What does a Biostatistician do The key responsibilities of a Biostatistician are: To give input to the design, sample size and statistical methodology of our clinical trials To conduct the statistical analyses and interpret the results of the statistical analysis of the trials, the data that goes into the submissions to the authorities and in the publications of clinical trial data in scientific papers To develop the statistical scientific documentation going into regulatory files and be responsible for communicating statistical considerations in health authority interactions The biostatistician is involved throughout the development of new products, from the early development phases
