Job Summary Reports to the Food and Beverage End Market President: This senior leadership role is an essential member of the leadership team and responsible for positively impacting end market results and the overall success of the business. This role provides strategic direction, leadership and accountability for marketing and product management globally within a specific market. This senior leadership role is responsible for the Global Food and Beverage Marketing and Product Management function. The primary purpose of this position is to develop, lead and focus on a global market strategy for the Food and Beverage end market. The incumbent plans and directs strategic marketing and product initiatives for the end market with a focus on becoming the leading global provider. He/she will recommend and implement product programs to sustain long term global growth initiatives supporting the depth and breadth of the full product portfolio across all end markets and SPX. Critical to the success of this role will be the partnership and collaboration across the organization to ensure an understanding, alignment and commitment with all SPX strategic and operating plans, along with the ability to lead change while improving the agility, efficiency and sustainability of the SPX operating model. The incumbent will be responsible for partnering with the Commercial organization to develop and execute the long term strategy and short-term tactics to creatively and profitably grow the end market. This position will define the global market opportunities within the Food and Beverage end market and across the organization through creation of market segmentation analysis, (taking into account relevant global, regional, product, customer, and economic factors). This position will be actively involved in setting the strategic vision and driving the results for the end market, including: improving the channels to market with sales/marketing strategic resource alignment, and new market/new product development processes. The role is highly strategic in focus and requires someone who will drive outstanding results in an entrepreneurial and innovative environment. Key responsibilities include directing the planning, organization and control of product lines from conceptual stages through the entire product life cycle. The function additionally entails overseeing effective management of marketing and end market growth objectives for all relevant regions, markets and sales channels, including working with Corporate Business Development on evaluation of possible acquisitions. The incumbent provides direction to the team as they influence product development, rationalization, enhancement, cost, price, sales and commercial support, engineering, manufacturing guidance, and positioning. The person in this role will create and lead a culture of strong leadership, innovation, talent and disciplined practices and processes. This leader will also develop and maintain an efficient organization with a focus on sustained and long-term continuous improvement that consistently produces improved results while motivating and retaining employees with high performance standards.
