Are you good at InDesign?

We need help for setting up our annual reports

SDU NanoSYD is looking for a student assistant who can help with the production of our annual reports for SDU NanoSYD in InDesign.

NanoSYD is one out of three centres at the Mads Clausen Institute and its overall research field is nanotechnology with special emphasis on thin films, device development from organic molecules, nanofabrication and nanophotonics. The centre comprises 24 international staff members who attract a large number of external research grants. In addition, NanoSYD hosts the ISO5 ceanroom and a number of laboratories. You can read more about the centre on sdu.dk/nanosyd.

Every year since 2007 the centre has published annual reports about the highlights within its research and the education of PhD students. Two years ago, the report got a new design based on user studies, SDU’s design manual and new requirements that the report should fulfil – and we would like to keep this design for years to come. The reports were made by internally so far but unfortunately, we do no longer have the resources to solve this task alone.

This is why we’re now looking for a student assistant at campus Sønderborg who is good at InDesign and who would like to help to finish the actual report for 2017 and start working on the report for 2018. Your tasks will comprise both the collection of information at the centre’s research staff as well as the setting up of the reports in an existing template in InDesign.

We expect you to

• be an experienced InDesign user
• be able to work with grids in InDesign
• have a good (British) English skills
• have experiences with image editing in Photoshop and the use of
  colour spaces for print production
• are able to meet deadlines and agreements and work thoroughly
• be good at working independently but also to have good
  communication skills

The job interviews will take place immediately after the expiry of the application deadline at the Mads Clausen Institute. The job start will take place as soon as possible.

The working time should be at least 2 hours per week and the contract expires by the end of 2018 with a possibility for extension.
