We Offer Maersk Drilling has its Corporate Head Office in Lyngby and the Legal Department supports the entire Business Unit. We are looking for a Student Assistant to assist us with general legal tasks, but particularly with legal compliance issues. You will be part of a department with 10 professional lawyers who all support various business units with legal advice, in close cooperation with the relevant commercial, operational and technical departments. Key Responsibilities You will be responsible for assisting the legal department with a wide range of tasks, including: •Assisting our legal compliance officer to conduct due diligence and to manage the overall compliance program for anti-corruption, export control and competition law •Helping to draft contract terms and amendments in relation to contracts with clients, partners and sub-contractors for operations throughout the world, including in Denmark, The United Kingdom, Singapore, South America and West Africa •Explaining complete legal concepts to and working closely with representatives of other departments within Maersk Drilling, including the commercial, engineering and operational departments •Understanding and communicating contractual liability and risk profiles across the asset portfolio •Transactional work Who we are looking for You will be offered a rare opportunity to gain insight in a highly international legal department and to participate in challenging international legal work. We are looking for a candidate who is: •Currently a law student •Able to speak, read and write English fluently •Willing to work 15-20 hours a week in coordination with another student assistant •Analytical and good at keeping focus on complex issues •Able to handle and prioritize many tasks at the same time •Commercially minded •Team oriented •Independent and willing to take individual responsibility for your tasks Some knowledge of basic common law and legal compliance concepts is an advantage, but not a prerequisite.
