Senior Business Development Manager International pharmaceutical company Fertin is a family-owned pharmaceutical company based in Denmark. Although we are considered small (600+ employees), we are the world’s leading B2B supplier of nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) chewing gum and our partner base includes some of the leading global pharmaceutical/consumer health companies. We are looking to accelerate our growth both within the NRT therapeutic area and other medicated chewing gums. To meet these goals, we are looking for a commercially-oriented Senior Business Development Manager. Your mission Build Fertin’s partnerships mainly through development, license (in/out) and supply agreements for products and technologies which will enable the company to realize its growth aspirations. Main Responsibilities Identify and evaluate appropriate partners for in-licensing/acquisition of new products/technologies and the development/out-licensing/supply of Fertin products; Oversee all facets of business development including the execution of transactions of different stage assets; Act as negotiator for external transactions; Responsible for translating the organization’s strategic goals into tangible business development strategies and transactions; Articulate his/her strategic vision to motivate people throughout the organization; Cultivate appropriate contacts at major and small/mid-size pharmaceutical companies that will enhance Fertin’s business development activities; Provide business expertise to R&D with the commercial aspects of licensing and development or research arrangements with external parties including evaluation of financial proposals and contractual structuring and negotiation; Represent Fertin in the industry, including exhibitions and conferences. Required Experience & competencies Minimum of 5-10 years of business development experience within global pharmaceutical (OTC / Rx) companies; Undergraduate degree, preferably in science or business, from a recognized academic institution; advanced scientific or business degree a plus; Proven track record or accomplishment with building consensus across functions and in particular, R&D, Supply Chain and Legal/IP; Experience with a broad array of deal structures across therapeutic categories; Demonstrated success and experience negotiating external transactions internationally (submission of deal sheet is mandatory); Financial acumen with respect to execution of multiple types of business transactions, including business case building and DCF modeling; Highly effective communication skills in English; Ability to leverage his/her experience and reputation to compete for external growth. Previous experience dealing with the pharmaceutical (OTC/Rx) industry; International oriented business-driven approach adept at dealing with different cultures.
