DTU Danchip/Cen, National Center Micro- and Nanofabrication and Center for Electron Nanoscopy at the Technical University of Denmark invites applications for a position as Professor in Semiconductor Fabrication Technology. The mission of DTU Danchip/Cen is: •To push the boundaries of micro/nano fabrication and electron beam based characterization. •To provide Denmark with state-of-the-art infrastructure, technology and education within micro- and nanofabrication and electron beam based characterization. •To enable Danish industry to exploit the existing and future benefits of nanotechnology and electron beam based characterization.The professor will build and head a research group around micro- and nano structuring of silicon and related materials and report to the Director of the Center. Responsibilities and tasks The professorship is a position through which DTU wishes to reinforce and develop semiconductor fabrication technology for the benefit of applications not only in academic research but also in industry. The professor is to take the lead in this area and work closely with other departments which in general are more focused on applications of the technology. The tasks include research, teaching and innovation. Primary tasks: •Research in different selected aspects of semiconductor fabrication technology •Research-based teaching and supervision of students on all levels •External collaboration with other international leading experts •Other duties: •Innovation •Guidance and supervision of assistant professors and researchers •Academic assessment Work. The successful candidate is expected to take a lead position in teaching at the bachelor-, master- and PhD levels. DTU Danchip/Cen provides access to equipment, knowledge and expertise in semiconductor fabrication technology and electron microscopy to other departments at DTU, other universities in Denmark and abroad and industry. We develop technology in very close collaboration with several DTU departments and other collaborators that in general have specific application areas. Research, teaching and supervision will therefore in many cases be together with professors from other departments. An attitude of openness, knowledge sharing and willingness to collaborate is therefore essential for this particular position. Qualifications The professor is expected to make a special effort in the fields of research and innovation and is generally required to display input over and above the qualification requirements for the position, which are: •A high level of original scientific production at international level that has contributed to the further development of process technology. •A deep understanding of the physics and chemistry underlying state of the art semiconductor process technology •Deep insight in equipment used for micro-and nano structuring of silicon and/or dielectric thin films. •Documented and successful teaching experience at different levels within the University’s study programmes, including and in particular at Ph.D. level. •Documented experience in some of the following areas: •Micro and nanostructuring of silicon •Systematic process development and establishing process flowsDeep reactive ion etching •Three dimensional nanostructuring of silicon and related materials Assessment In the assessment of the candidates consideration will be given to •the ability to teach •scientific production at international level, research potential and ability to lead and develop a research team •the ability to promote and utilize research results •experience with innovation activities •an all-round experience basis, including international experience •the ability to contribute to the development of the Department’s internal and external cooperation •track record in attracting funding to the research area •visions within the research area As it is important to teach and supervise students inside the cleanroom at the fa
