Are you experienced with power electronics design? Do you want to work with a team of highly skilled engineers on the core system of a wind turbine? If so, you could be our new Power Electronics Engineer to join our team. Technology & Service Solutions, Nacelle Power & Handling, Electrical Power & Control, Converter Electrical & High Voltage Vestas Technology & Service Solutions is where new product ideas or technologies are matured, developed, tested and improved. To put it short, Vestas Technology & Service Solutions is the cornerstone of Vestas. We are shaping the future of modern energy. The Converter Electrical & High Voltage department is part of Vestas R&D organization Technology & Service Solutions. The department is an essential contributor in making the current and future wind turbines more efficient and cost effective by developing the electrical power conversion components as power stack (power electronics), transformer and switchgear. This is done by being responsible for development and maintenance of the components according to the full value chain requirements. All Vestas products are based on internally developed converters since electrical power conversion is at the core of how a wind turbine performs, operates and interacts with the electrical grid. With an engineering background in power conversion your main role will be to participate in and drive the design of the power electronics in our converters. The daily work will be within a broad network of stakeholders and together with the electrical specialists you will set the standard for tomorrows design. You will be a part of the power electronic team within the Converter Electrical & High Voltage department. The department consists of 12 highly skilled designers and specialists located in Aarhus. Responsibilities: As Engineer in Power Electronics, you will be a part of the Power Electronics team and report to the Converter Electrical & High Voltage Manager within Electrical Power & Control. Your main responsibilities and tasks will be: Specification and design of power electronic to converter systems Specification and design of filters for grid connected power converters Influence and drive solutions based on International standards and requirements Establishment of predicted failure rates for proposed designs Create Design Verification Plans/Procedures and conduct tests for design validation Set targets for how to qualify power components Establish Critical To Quality’s for principal components Review engineering designs Create and keep the overview of quality of relevant electrical products in field Participate in supplier quality evaluation Qualifications: Your qualifications include: A bachelor/master in a relevant area, i.e. power electronics, electrical engineering Experience from power electronics design Experience in working with test and verification of power electronics Good communication skills Experienced in project execution in matrix organization Competencies: We see the ideal candidate possessing the following personality and competencies: You are process oriented and have a structured way to work You have a proactive personality, good communication and stakeholder management You naturally lead, guide, advise and share knowledge with team and stakeholders You are a strong networker and able to build, develop and maintain relationships in a global environment You possess English skills at a good level What we offer: We offer a true global challenge in a project-oriented organization with excellent opportunities for cross-disciplinary and personal development, where emphasis is placed on the right balance between creativity and quality in all solutions.
