DTU Nanotech conducts cross-disciplinary research where micro- and nanotechnology is applied to a wide range of scientific disciplines as well as applications. The Nanoprobes group is a large and highly multi-cultural group, with different research branches focusing on biosensing, drug delivery and environmental monitoring. Responsibilities and tasks The Nanoprobes group at DTU Nanotech wishes to employ a postdoctoral researcher for 2,5 years to work in a highly interdisciplinary project focusing on developing centrifugal microfluidic platforms for biological and clinical analysis. The main goal is to develop novel methods and devices for analyzing various samples such as cell suspensions and blood in a centrifugal microfluidic platform. The work will be carried out in close collaboration with different research groups and companies, within the framework of the ERC project – HERMES and the recently granted DNRF and Villum Centre of Excellence ‘IDUN’. The successful candidate will play a leading role in the lab-on-a-disc activities in the Nanoprobes group, interacting with several members working in different disciplines, such as biochemistry, biology, microfluidics, mechanical engineering and electronics. The position involves co-supervision of Ph.D. and master students. Qualifications The ideal candidate holds a Ph.D. in physics or engineering. A strong background in polymer micro fabrication, lab-chip technologies, microfluidics and analytical instrumentation is an advantage. Experience in designing and testing of centrifugal microfluidic platforms and experience in working with bio-detection assays are also considered valuable assets. Furthermore, a strong interest in clinical testing and micro-fabrication is required. We are looking for an independent researcher who works accurately and feels comfortable in a collaborative and international environment.
