Post doc in Experimental Quantum Optics with focus on Hybridization of Technologies Associated with Discrete and Continuous Variable Quantum Optics

The Department of Physics currently has available a position in experimental quantum optics with focus on hybridization of technologies associated with discrete and continuous variable quantum optics. The position is connected to a newly started project with the primary goal of demonstrating quantum teleportation of continuous variable states using a novel hybrid scheme based on single-photon entanglement. It will be possible to follow alternative, but related research directions as well. The work will be carried out in close collaboration with the PI of the project and with other members of the research group. The work will be conducted at the Section for Quantum Physics and Information Technology (QPIT) within the Department of Physics, DTU. Responsibilities and tasks The successful candidate will be responsible for performing research at the highest international level. Qualifications The successful candidate will preferably have a PhD in physics and must be driven by scientific curiosity as well as being creative and innovative. Candidates should ideally have documented experience within one or more of the following areas: •Quantum optics technology of continuous variables, such as the generation of squeezed and entangled states of light. •Single photon technology. •Characterization of quantum states of light with nonclassical properties. The successful candidate must be able to communicate clearly in both oral and written English. Salary and terms of employment The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed with the relevant union.
