The role of the Big Data Centre of Excellence is to support Novo Nordisk in gaining a new understanding from data. Mostly this means driving data insights projects in close collaboration with the lines of business. The internship will be anchored within IT Architecture with a senior member of the Big Data Centre of Excellence. The Job As an intern in the Big Data Centre of Excellence you will take part in various projects and day-to-day tasks. You will be a member of the core team working on big data and analytics initiatives; this could be performing analysis on vast data sets or establishing mechanisms for working with large quantities of data. A key part of the job is also to experiment and challenge us in our understanding of data and analytics, where a successful candidate also can get a key role in supporting the execution of the analytics strategy. Qualifications We are looking for an intern who is passionate about data and analytics. You are currently completing a master’s degree within areas such as computer sciences, IT engineering, biostatistics, mathematics, analytics, statistics or other related fields. Your specific degree is not the main criteria to become a successful candidate, however it is important that you have had prior coursework in data analytics and/or statistics or prior work experience in data analysis. Requirements: Experience with R or another statistical language; Good knowledge of SQL and Excel; Knowledge of big data and/or analytics technologies desired but not required; Knowledge of Python and/or experience with Hadoop/MapReduce Our company language is English and we expect that you have strong verbal and written skills. Finally, you must possess a strong work ethic and the willingness to take responsibility for your own learning.
