In the development of medical devices, we ensure that user insight and innovation go hand in hand with a strong quality mind-set. About the department You will join the Engineering Analysis team. We analyse the performance of medical devices in contexts covering the entire life-cycle of the devices from production to the patient use. Through close collaboration with device developers, we provide answers to questions such as “when process parameters vary in production, can the devices produced still perform as intended?”, “will the device break if it is dropped on the floor and, if so, where will it break?”, “is the mechanical design over- or under- constrained and what will be the implications of that from a tolerance perspective?”, and, most importantly, “how can we improve on the mechanical design?”. We are a dynamic team of highly competent and innovative Engineers and Specialists that supports the device development projects with Finite Element simulations, mathematical modelling, kinematic and tolerance analysis. We are located at a state-of-the-art R&D facility in the greater Copenhagen area. The job You will work primarily within the mechanical disciplines of tolerance chain analysis and kinematic analysis. You will have a key focus on supporting development engineers in identifying and analysing critical tolerance chains in designs and you will work with experts across mechanical disciplines such as kinematics and structural analysis towards improving the mechanical design. Your tasks will range from guidance on creating robust designs in projects in the early development phases to performing thorough analysis on late stage development projects. Furthermore you will also take part in educating your colleagues across Device R&D within the tolerance discipline. Qualifications You hold a M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or similar and may have experience working in an R&D environment. You have an innovative mind-set and have documented skills within mechanical design as well as proven strong analytical skills. You are familiar with tolerance analysis and kinematics. Experience with programming (VBA), CAD and dimensional and geometrical product specifications (ISO GPS) is an advantage but not a requirement and these are competencies we will help you acquire if necessary. However, it is of atmost importance that you have an eye for the critical details and that you thrive with a systematic and structured approach. To handle complex mechanical analysis and a wide range of stakeholders it is important that you are a strong communicator and that you are able to explain complex subjects in a clear and understandable way. As a person you are proactive and possess initiative. Your open-minded approach makes it easy for you to create results via strong teamwork, and your curious mind-set makes you eager to learn and be inspired. You will also need your energy and ability to handle multiple tasks and still meet agreed milestones and deadlines.
