Then here is a unique opportunity to take on a very independent role where you will spend most of your time visiting our suppliers on their premises – mainly around Europe. Here, you make sure that all mechanical equipment and machines meet our quality standards and that the projects are on the right track. Detailed Description Supervise international suppliers You join a department based in Copenhagen, Denmark but since you will spend most of your time travelling, you could be a resident of Germany or another European country. As you visit suppliers, you make sure all mechanical equipment and machines live up to our requirements. This entails: · Supervising manufacturers and ensuring that our suppliers understand our specifications · Conducting process and final inspection as well as participating in customer inspections · Following up and providing surveillance reports on the different purchase orders · Reviewing and approving suppliers’ quality documentation and coordinating and facilitating technical queries from suppliers As our ambassador and specialist on site, you evaluate the equipment in terms of quality, cost and time schedule. In this role, you deal with many different nationalities and will gain insight into various cultures but no matter where you are, we need you to ensure the high standards we depend on. Therefore, you are able to challenge suppliers when necessary as well as build the personal relations both with suppliers and with many different departments in FLSmidth enabling you to drive project progress. Job Requirements Mechanical Engineer with an international mind-set · You probably have a degree in mechanical engineering or similar combined with at least 5 years of relevant experience e.g. from workshops · Experience with NDT measurement techniques such as UT, MT, Visual, Hardness is a must (level 3 education would be ideal) · You know about castings and forgings · You speak and write English at a high level (other languages would be a plus) As a person, you thrive in an independent expert role where you travel to meet different suppliers every week. As the go-to-person on location, you are comfortable making decisions, and with your strong collaboration and problem solving skills, you are able to serve as a sparring partner for the suppliers, keeping projects on track.
