Last step from production to patient
Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control (CMC) Development is a part of the Research & Development organisation, manufacturing and distributing drug candidates for pre and clinical trials. We develop and formulate all new protein and peptide processes coming out of our research units in our pilot plants, ensuring that we bring best-in-class treatments to the market.
 
About the department
Clinical Supplies Supply Chain Planning (CS SCP) is a key member of Research & Development and is vital in bringing new drugs to market. In CS we have a unique understanding of the combination of drug development and supply chain management. Our main and most important task is to ensure that trial products are available on time and in the right quality and quantity for all clinical trials conducted by Novo Nordisk.

The position
As team leader for the Trial Product Handling team, you play a key role in the department and lead a team of 12 experienced and skilled professionals, specialists and administrative employees. The primary focus of the team is to provide support on trial product handling to both internal and external users and to evaluate temperature deviations for clinical trial products. In addition, the team has a strong focus on ensuring quality, driving process optimization initiatives, and developing new solutions while delivering clinical products of the highest quality to clinical trial sites. It is your responsibility to ensure that our work processes and collaborations with both internal and external stakeholders are continuously becoming more efficient. 

In particular, you evaluate performance and set direction for the team both short and long term to ensure that all activities are planned and timely completed and in compliance with GMP/GCP standards. You focus on maintaining a high level of drive and commitment and, through visible leadership and sparring, you develop a culture where everyone is ready to challenge methods, systems and processes and continuously make them better, smarter and faster.

Additionally, as the team has to implement and provide support on an exciting new temperature deviation control system, you will need to build and support the needed team in ensuring the transition from project phase to daily operational mode.  

Qualifications

Ideally you have

• a Msc or other degree in a relevant field (e.g. engineering, chemistry, pharmacy).
• 3-5 years of managerial experience within the pharmaceutical industry and solid knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and/or Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
• experience with change management and LEAN tools.
• Project management experience
