Designer or Engineer to coach designers

Help create amazing LEGO® Play experiences. In this role, you are the children’s play ambassador, who joins a team of experts to coach designers in making inspiring play experiences for children across the globe. Doing so, you help improve the world’s best construction toy.

Be the children’s ambassador

You join a number of projects within the LEGO® Play themes, for example LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Friends or LEGO Ninjago. From beginning to end, you help designers ensure the best building and play experience for LEGO Builders. You support the designers through your knowledge of children, which you acquire through user tests and technical tests as well as feedback from consumer service and best/worst case stories. Thus, you safeguard the quality and build on the stability and security of our models. Specifically you:

- Serve as the designers’ go-to person, coaching them and conducting follow-up, approaching and challenging each step to improve and create new LEGO Models

- Take part in technical tests, consumer tests and other kinds of tests to develop your specialist knowledge of how children play, handle toys, etc.

- Facilitate Model Quality meetings in relation to new projects to ensure that new models are on track in the development process

- Join knowledge sharing workshops and training sessions across the Design organisation to continually influence the designers’ knowledge of children’s building and play experiences

Passionate about the impact of play

You will join a large international design team in Billund, counting approximately 300 designers from around the world, who are all passionate about the impact of play. In a culture that is famous for collaboration and creativity, you join 6 colleagues in the Model Competence Center and collaborate closely with designers in a cross-functional team.

Play is our favourite way of learning

In this role you spend much of your day playing and thinking creatively in order to secure world-class build and play experiences. You function as a consultant and offer alternative solutions to construction/function challenges within the platform on stability, playability and building techniques. But you get a broad network among caring specialists, who play to learn in a department that is all about cooperation and exchanging ideas and experiences.

Consumer understanding to facilitate only the best

You will have an independent position, where you look for opportunities to improve play and building experiences. You get to serve as a role model, who proactively looks to solve tasks at a high quality, caring for children and designers alike. To do so, you:

- Hold a background within Industrial Design, Engineering or similar

- Passionate about toys and LEGO, preferably with an understanding of the LEGO building experience within DUPLO, Technic or LEGO systems.

- Have some understanding of what constitutes an amazing play experience and excellent consumer knowledge in general

- Be an active and honest team player in a team of senior consultants, that are depending on close collaboration and sparing in the daily work.

- Can handle many stakeholders and plan and facilitate different kinds of meetings, workshops and trainings.

- Speak and write English fluently, just as you are a strong communicator
