As our new Designer, you will become part of an international environment where you will enter into a dedicated and creative team consisting of buyers and designers. About the job

You will have an important role in developing our MAIN collection, which is crucial to VERO MODA's success. Here, you will take part in the entire design process - from idea to final product, and you will act as the right hand of the Design Manager throughout the process. You will have plenty of opportunity of immersing yourself in the creation of trendy and commercial designs, while working in a dynamic flow involving several collections at the same time. In collaboration with the rest of the team, you ensure that our products are constantly developed in terms of look and feel and optimised in terms of trend, speed and quality. You will work closely with our buyers and our Sales department, and you will therefore have a broad network - both internally in VERO MODA's organisation, but also externally with our suppliers.

More specifically, you will

• Conduct research and take responsibility for the design process - from start to finish
• Translate fashion trends into commercial styles
• Draw up design sketches
• Adjust and comment on styles in collaboration with our pattern designers and buyers
• Explore new trends, tendencies and collaboration opportunities on inspirational trips and supplier visits
• Present trends and collections at internal sales meetings.

Qualifications

• Educational background within design
• 2-3 years of experience as a designer in the fashion industry
• Experience with several product categories - especially woven and jersey will be an advantage
• Experience with print is an advantage but not a requirement
• Skilled user of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
• Fluent in both written and spoken English.

You have a keen eye for detail and good experience with regard to qualities. You love to experiment and find new ways to create your designs. VERO MODA's dynamic and creative work environment gives you a lot of energy, and you know how to stay focused on both the design process and deadlines. Since you will be working closely with the buying team and other colleagues in creating the collection, it is vital that you are skilled at communicating and collaborating across different job functions. Initiative and independent decision making is also a natural part of the way you work.
