Are you good at programming and developing software with a science-based, quantitative genetic content? Then here is the opportunity to work together with scientists that use the software for advising society and companies about genetic improvement programs in livestock and agricultural plants. The position is permanent. ???????
Your job will be:
- Programming in ADAM and ADAMPlant in collaboration with scientists at QGG and their collaborators.
- Test of new features in ADAM and ADAMPlant.
- Support of PhD students and Post Docs in using ADAM and ADAMPlant.
- Writing reports of simulations in ADAM and ADAMPlant.
Your qualifications are:
- Relevant education in quantitative genetics.
- Large experience in programming in Fortran and R.
- Thorough documentation of software.
- Ability to work structured and in teams
Who are we?
Center for Quantitative Genetics and Genomics QGG (http://mbg.au.dk/en/research/research-areas/center-for-quantitative-genetics-and-genomics) is in the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics at Aarhus University. QGG is a major center for research and education in quantitative genetics, quantitative genomics, optimization of breeding schemes, and breeding. It comprises 18 senior staff and a large group of PhDs and postdocs, in total about 60 people. QGG provides a very dynamic and internationally orientated environment with strong collaborations with relevant industrial partners as well as several other leading international research groups in the area.
