Wind Turbine Application and Control Engineer – Software Engineer

For our Software Department we are looking for an experienced engineer with both theoretical and practical knowledge in developing turbine applications and control systems. The Software Department at KK Wind Solutions is developing and maintaining control systems for wind turbines at various sizes from 650kW to 6.5MW. This covers new development, retrofit and optimization of existing turbines. Deliveries from the Software Department stretches from embedded HW driver via turbine and park control to tools, SCADA and UI implementations. Responsibilities In our team of software engineers, our ability to innovate on core business while integrating standard technology is important and we do our outmost to exceed customer expectations. Our organization is constantly challenged on the ability to cooperate with suppliers, customers and colleagues thus it is important to secure a suitable level of documentation. However don’t panic – your new colleagues will help you navigating in our documentation system. We are innovative and skilled craftsmen striving to understand, challenge, and improve existing solutions. We are not obsessed by the art of advanced programming, but can find simple solutions to complicated problems. We have customers all over the world and when working in customer projects, we listen to understand and clarify the project requirements in close cooperation with our customers. We are involved all the way from specification and design to verification and delivery. Your place of work is located in Ikast, but for some projects there will be the opportunity to visit customers, partners or suppliers. However you should not expect more than approximately 20 days of travelling per year. Your profile We are looking for a BScEE/MScEE or similar, with practical experience in wind turbine systems (pitch, yaw and safety) you understand mechanical and hydraulic challenges. As a person you are a dedicated team player and enjoy working in cross-functional projects in a global environment. You have excellent analytical skills and have the ability to work both independently and in teams. Furthermore, you: are experienced in C/C++ have made model based design using Matlab/Simulink are familiar with structured text are familiar with communication interfaces as e.g. OPC, Modbus and CANopen are familiar with GL2010/2012 and EN/ISO13849 In addition to the above mentioned, you are fluent in written and spoken English.
