Designing the future with passion

As a part of an interdisciplinary software team in R&D you will be a part of the UX team and work on user experience design related to current and new projects. Reporting directly to an R&D Manager, you will be a part of a cross-functional, Scrum team and have the opportunity to collaborate with the software, mechanical and electronics engineers to gather all the knowledge you may need to complete your work. Your main responsibility – in cooperation with the lead UX Designer – is to establish a high standard of structure and flow for the user experience of our product and help drive the UX research agenda thereby contributing to the overall company strategy.

Some of the tasks associated with this position will be:

  • concept development / low-fidelity prototyping

  • visual design

  • user journey mapping

  • usability testing

  • user research

 

Job requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a bachelors or masters in User Centered Design (UCD), Human Computer Interaction (HCI), IT Product Design, Media/Communication Design or related. We prefer candidates with some commercial work experience in roles that include software development and maybe also visual, web and responsive design.

Required skills:

  • Minimum 3 years of work experience

  • Proven experience with user interface design patterns and UCD methodologies

  • Demonstrable UX design skills with a strong portfolio

  • Experience with visual design and graphic design is a plus

  • Experience with Adobe Illustrator is a plus

  • Experience with Balsamiq, Confluence, JIRA or similar is a plus

  • Conceptualization and visualization skills is a plus

  • Experience with responsive design is a plus

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (English)

  • Understanding of common software development practices (e.g. Scrum) is a plus

  • Understanding of user research practices and data synthesis

  • Experience with creating UX research metrics e.g. Usability Baselines, NPS, and/or Happiness Index is a plus

We expect you to be agile and a fast-learner, as our set-up can change rapidly. You work well on a team and can take constructive feedback, but you are also able to work independently and stand alone. We wish for a strong communicator, who can sell the solutions to various stakeholders, and who is willing to learn the necessary technical skills to perform in the job and thrive in the Universal Robots environment.
