About the Position

We are looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic team lead for our Control System team. You should be an experienced control engineer with a track record in wind turbine controls. The team is part of the Onshore Technology (R&D) organization located in Brande, Denmark. Main team tasks are to implement and tune our control algorithm on the newest product development projects. Implementation of the latest control functionalities and validation of the whole control system will be part of your new role. You will join an international team with great possibilities for personal development.

What are my responsibilities?

  • Leading and managing a co-located team of control experts (Denmark and Spain)
  • Providing technical and personal guidance - coordinate workload within your team
  • Responsible for the development, implementation and validation of wind turbine control software and features
  • Improving the general performance of the fleet as well as engaging in developing wind turbine controllers of the future
  • Integration of controller functionality into wind turbine simulation and hardware platform using Model (Simulink) Based Controller Design
  • Controller solution certification
  • Turbine project specific controller optimization and validation
  • Operational root cause analysis

What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • You hold an engineering degree at M.Sc. or PhD level and you have at least 5 years of work experience within control systems development - preferably from the wind turbine industry
  • You are familiar with main sensors and actuators available for wind turbine control, with a domain of their principles of operation as well as their applications within wind turbine control.
  • You are an experienced Matlab/Simulink and C programmer
  • Strong communication skills with stakeholders at all levels
  • If you have some project management skills it would be an advantage
  • You are familiar with MATLAB Simulink and preferably Finite Element Modelling packages
  • You are able to manage your own time effectively
  • You are proactive, work well within a small team of like-minded engineers and capable of presenting technical ideas and concepts to a wider audience
  • You possess excellent English skills - written as well as verbally
  • You thrive in an international organization
