Maersk Oil is looking for a senior business-oriented lawyer specialised within regulation relevant for energy and commodity trading and experienced with contractual negotiations to support our organisation in Denmark. Maersk Oil has its Corporate Head Offices in Copenhagen, and Corporate Legal supports the entire organisation. The department employs a total of 19 persons consisting of 13 lawyers, one paralegal, one PA and three student assistants. The department is divided into five teams: International Operations, Danish Operations, Legal Compliance, Corporate Support and CSR. Key Responsibilities As part of Danish Operations your main responsibilities will include providing legal advice and support to Maersk Oil’s organisation, primarily in Denmark, within a broad range of areas, including: • Advising on laws and regulations relevant for energy and commodity trading; • Crude oil sales and gas sales; • Carbon trading; • Agreements for transportation of hydrocarbons; and • Operational agreements with suppliers and contractors Who we are looking for • A qualified lawyer with a solid theoretical background and at least 6 years’ experience in an international orientated law firm or business environment; • Has at least 3 years’ experience with laws and regulations relevant for energy and commodity trading or similar rules relevant for financial institutions or capital markets; • Experienced in contract negotiations and contract advice with a proven track record; • Able to explain complex issues in a clear and concise way to personnel throughout the organisation; • Energetic and driven to support the growth of the organisation; • Commercially-minded, team-oriented and good at keeping focus on multiple tasks and issues; • Able to work independently with guidance in only the most complex situations and with a high degree of personal and professional accountability and integrity; • Familiar with Danish and/or English law • Fluent in spoken and written English Last application date: 02 June 2016.
