As Senior Director, Engineering RAC (Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Controls) you will be responsible for leading and developing the global RD&E Product Maintenance and Improvements organization with focus on continues cost/quality improvements and fast execution of customer requests whilst developing effective Engineering foot print with team capabilities that matches business strategies.
The Engineering team is based in 6 different locations (Monterrey MX, Kolding and Nordborg DK, Grodzisk PL, Chennai IN and Wuqing CN) each with a local manager reporting to the Senior Director.

Reporting to
The Senior Director will be part of the RAC R&D and Engineering organisation in Danfoss, and will report to Vice President, R&D and Engineering

Areas of Responsibilities

• Lead Product Maintenance and Improvement activities globally with focus on lean and fast execution and continues improvements in quality and processes
• Build lean and learning organization culture based on empowerment, flexibility, customer focus, collaboration and zero-defect mindset
• Develop capabilities of the Engineering function/teams to meet the strategic goals of the business’s
• Secure transparency in Engineering foot print, activities, competences and financials
• Drive standardization across sites and facilitate knowledge sharing through lessons learnt
• Drive plans and implementation of external collaboration
• Support review and integration of deliveries from New Product Development and Value Engineering portfolio
• Evaluate competence and resource requirements for the product portfolio across sites including strategic succession plan
• Lead by example, acting as a role model, motivating and inspiring others
• Creating an environment which inspires people to change and develop
• Develop Engineering teams to the next level to deliver faster and with better quality on simulation and additive manufacturing

Minimum requirements to educational background

• Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering or similar

Requirements to working experience

• 5-10 years’ experience in managing engineering teams with proven track record
• Practical experience with specification, design and verification and validation of mechanical/electro-mechanical/electronic control products
• Proven record of utilizing quality tools to secure design quality
• Experience with simulation and additive manufacturing
• Fluent and comprehensive English

Preferred location: Denmark, Nordborg or Kolding.
Alternatively, Flensburg or Hamburg, although this role requires visible leadership at our hubs in Nordborg and Kolding, Denmark.
