The offer

As Senior Big Data Engineer, you’ll play an important role in our journey within advanced analytics. You will develop and maintain big data solutions within Nordea’s next generation Big Data Platform. Your work will span all the way from data lifting and - transformation to building apps with cutting-edge Big Data technology to resolve complex business challenges. In Data Systems Engineering, a part of the Group Data Management Office we collaborate with the business units to create solutions within data science, this covers analytical models and actionable insights, that will support Nodea’s sales and marketing initiatives. 

What you’ll be doing: 

• You will have a role as Big Data Engineer, working closely with colleagues and our business stakeholders to develop the solutions needed for advanced analytics
• Work in an agile team to deliver maximum business benefit from our solutions
• Take lead on initiatives to improve the way we work
• Working in an IT team, which create solution on a exciting technology stack (Hadoop eco-system), including batch and realtime data load, that support Data Science and analytics use cases

The role is based in Copenhagen or Helsinki. Welcome to an energetic team that generates great momentum from collaboration.

Your background: 

• Experience working with data and properly different storage platforms like e.g. Oracle, Teradata, DB2
• Great programming skills in Java and Scala
• Atlassian Suite Bamboo, JIRA, Git
• Test framework Robot, jMeter, jUnit, dbUnit
• Hadoop YARN, Sqoop, Flume
• Streaming technologies; Spark
• Basic machine learning packages
• Academic degree
• Fluency in written and spoken English
