External Innovation Excellence Manager, Business Incubation & Acquisitions, Bagsvaerd, DK
We are looking for an experienced yet highly ambitious entrepreneur for a manager position in our team who will be responsible to establish center of excellence for scouting (technologies and product platforms, partners) and investing (in startups, JVs). Strategic analysis is an important aspect of the position along with exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to close deals. This role would be an interesting mix of multiple hats including technology scouting, external collaboration, VC investments, and business incubation & acceleration.
The successful candidates will naturally have a broad experience from a range of different projects and business challenges. However, practical project experience within one or more of the following industries will be an advantage: personal care / human health (non Rx), renewable energy/materials, agrochemicals/agricultural input, food/feed ingredients or FMCG. Please note that the position is located in Denmark and requires up to 20% travel per year.
Your main tasks will be:
- Drive the minority investment framework for Novozymes ensuring best strategic leverage and financial returns
- Work closely with M&A team on valuations of emerging niche players and present investment opportunities to the investment committee / M&A board in alignment with stakeholders from respective line of business
- Establish and manage the ecosystem for structured information sharing and collaboration in scouting across the company
- Establish and manage internal governance with NZ BUs and R&D organization to ensure clear accountabilities and best strategic leverage from the engagements and investments in the external world
- Explore how to leverage latest developments in digitalization to enhance external collaboration in scouting
In this position, you need to have:
- 8-10 years of work-ex in relevant industries, including but not limited to agriculture, Food and feed, healthcare, cosmetics, environmental solutions, etc. AND incl. 2-3 years of work experience in a VC fund / PE firm as investment / portfolio manager
- Demonstrated ability to manage large complex projects with multiple stakeholders – internal and external
- Degree in biological science or related field of engineering and masters’ in business administration (MBA) or higher degree in Finance
