About the department
R&D Executive Office & Project Support is a small unit centrally located in the R&D organisation of Novo Nordisk directly supporting the top management in R&D and the chief science officer (CSO). The unit consists of a small communication team and a business support team, the former in which the position as science communication partner is available. The communication team supports top management in R&D as well as the entire R&D organisation with science-related and general communication.
The position
As science communication partner your most important task is to support the CSO of Novo Nordisk with science communication. In preparation of presentations for the CSO, you will integrate basic and clinical research data with disease as well as strategic business information. You will use your creative mind to develop visually appealing presentations and adapt the storytelling to various audiences ranging from general employees, to scientists to external journalists.
As part of the central R&D communication team, you will also have an important role in supporting top management in R&D as well as the entire R&D organisation with science-related communication. Examples hereof are developing an annual large global event for R&D managers, developing and updating scientific and strategic material for internal as well as external R&D webpages and communication packages.
You will report directly to the head of R&D Executive Office & Project Support – Vice President and Executive Assistant to the CSO - and work closely with stakeholders across the R&D organisation and Novo Nordisk.
Qualifications
As ideal candidate, you have:
- a Master degree in science and preferably PhD in science
- strong presentation and communication skills and preferably an education and/or working experience in communication
- minimum 3 years working experience in the pharmaceutical industry
- excellent understanding of and preferably working experience with both basic and clinical research
- excellent skills in power point and preferably working experience and flair for graphical design and webpage maintenance
- fluent written and oral English
On a personal level, you are pro-active with a high drive and can-do attitude. You can work interdependently but also engage in collaborations as a strong team player. Your stakeholder management skills are great and you take pride in delivering high quality material at top management level. You possess an innovative mind-set and flexible attitude and are ready to work in an exciting environment close to the top management in R&D where things happen at a fast pace and where priorities change on a frequent basis.
