The Danish Signalling Programme – as the largest of its kind in Europe – is fully engaged replacing the signalling system on the national railway with European Railway Traffic Management System (ERTMS) Level 2, Baseline 3 technology. This makes Denmark the first country to implement ERTMS on a national scale.

We are looking for a new colleague, a Safety Advisor, to join our safety team in the Fjernbane West project. The Fjernbane West project is responsible for the introduction of the European Railway Traffic Management System (ERTMS) for the West Region, i.e. Jutland. The project is supported by an international supplier base and consultants from across Europe.

As Safety Advisor, your responsibilities are associated with approvals to put in service the new signalling system, as well as the production and management of the safety documentation supporting the approvals. The approach must be in full compliance with Danish Railway Legislation and the European Common Safety Methods (CSM).

We are overseeing the overall safety assessment of the entire project, including the assessment of supplier and stakeholder inputs, to ensure that the project execution and the deliveries fulfill the necessary safety requirements.

Your place of employment will be at our headquarters in central Copenhagen.

Safety deliverables and approvals
The role requires application of best practice within safety management through the implementation of the CSM process. Typical tasks include the planning of safety deliverables, production of safety deliverables and delivery of documentation through presentations and formal submissions.

With safety engineering and systems engineering experience you support the integration of the new system with the existing railway. In this role, you will draw on operational and testing experience, thereby enabling us to provide a fully functional, safe and operable system fit for many years of service for the Danish population.

Engineer with experience in large complex industrial projects
Ideally, you hold an engineering degree and have some relevant experience in engineering roles, and preferably you already have experience with railway projects, ERTMS or Common Safety Methods.

Furthermore, it is an advantage if you have knowledge of CENELEC Standard EN 50126, 50128 and 50129, hazard identification and analysis and Hazard Log Management.

On a more personal level, we are looking for a team player with good communication skills and the ability to work independently.

The role includes communicating with colleagues of many different nationalities. Our working language is English (both written and spoken), and documentation is mainly in English and Danish.

Salary
You will be employed in relation to the current labour agreement with a possibility to negotiate supplements, and your salary is settled based on your experiences.
