About the department
Increasingly, healthcare payers and decision-makers want to evaluate drugs in their own real world settings, outside of randomised clinical trials, for formulary and clinical decisions.

You will get the opportunity to join an international and high performing team in Søborg, Denmark responsible for generating real world evidence for Novo Nordisk’s portfolio based on e.g. health administrative databases or data from non-interventional studies. The evidence we generate is published in peer reviewed publications, presented at scientific meetings and communicated globally in support of market access to our portfolio of therapies.

We are part of Global Market Access, and the overall ambition for the area is to secure patient access to our innovations in Novo Nordisk. Real world data and evidence are being used more actively to form strategic business decisions with increasing focus in market access. We are furthermore ensuring insight-based decision making as well as ensuring that Novo Nordisk effectively engages with patients, health care professionals, policymakers and other key external stakeholders to address the global fight against diabetes and obesity and other serious chronic diseases.

The position
As Quantitative Analytical Lead, you will be responsible for implementing a range of moderate to complex analyses for of real world studies. You will work to support the Real-World Evidence team in Global Market Access on non-interventional studies using large health administrative databases such as MarketScan/Truven, Optum/Humedica, IBM Explorys, CPRD etc., as well as analysis of data collected explicitly for research objectives. The main programming language is SAS (e.g., SAS Base, SAS Stat, SAS Macro), but this position also requires knowledge of SQL and R.

In this role, you will build insights and generate data-driven evidence using your expertise in statistical analyses and programming according to specification, examples could be to analysis on treatment patterns, drug utilisation and resource utilisation, cost-effectiveness and comparative effectiveness. You will implement cohort selection, variable derivation, data management, analyses for the type of studies described above, and production of results using SAS or another of the programming languages specified above in collaboration with the team. You will conduct validation and review of programs developed by other programmers in the team. Furthermore, you will review and assists in the development of protocol or statistical analyses plan with responsibility for planning and design phases of projects.

Qualifications
You have a Master’s degree or higher within Health Economics, Micro Econometrics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology or related field along with demonstrated expertise in analysis of observational “real world” data such as electronic medical records, insurance claims, registries, and cohorts. You have a strong track record of applications of skills in terms of e.g. scientific publications or similar, and you know how to address common methodological issues in non-randomised real world data.

Further, you set strategic direction with a focus on commercial impact. You have an exploratory mind-set and have exceptional project management skills. As a person, you are outgoing and can create excellent stakeholder networks. You are able to collaborate across multiple boundaries and enjoy working with cross functional teams. Apart from that you are fluent in both written and spoken English and open to international travel.
