The Computational Astrophysics group at the Astrophysics and Planetary Science section, part of the Niels Bohr Institute, invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship related to the DFF funded project ”Unravelling the Formation of Multiple Stellar Systems”. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with expertise in computational star formation, dynamics of young binary systems, synthetic observations, and high-performance computing. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to guide more junior fellows, teach courses at various levels, participate in outreach activities, and organize international meetings. The position is open for 2 years.

The Computational Astrophysics group at the Astrophysics and Planetary Science section has a long tradition of realistic computational modelling with a strong theoretical foundation in a broad range of astrophysical subjects. The interests in the group includes star formation, planet formation, solar physics, collision-less plasmas, computational astrochemistry, and synthetic observations. We have strong ties to the Theoretical Astrophysics Group at the Niels Bohr International Academy. We are part of the Centre for Star and Planet Formation that is characterized by a vibrant multi-disciplinary environment, and jointly hosted by the Natural History Museum of Denmark and the Niels Bohr Institute. The center hosts a large number of international visitors and workshops, as well as summer PhD schools.

Terms of employment
The position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff.

Terms of appointment and payment according to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.

The starting salary is currently up to DKK 426.625 including annual supplement (+ pension up to DKK 72.952). Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.
