The Copenhagen Center for Health Technology (CACHET) is looking for a post-doctoral researcher within security, privacy, and anonymization techniques and technologies for management and sharing of large health data. You will have a central role in ensuring privacy and anonymity in collecting, managing, and analyzing large healthcare dataset collected as part of the center’s research.

CACHET is a strategic research partnership between the Capital Region of Denmark, the City of Copenhagen, the Medical and Health Faculty at the University of Copenhagen, and the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). We carry out many different research projects together with our academic, clinical, and industrial partners.

Your work will be part of the technological research in CACHET which is carried out at the DTU Department of Health Technology. You will be part of a team of computer science researchers, postdocs, PhD students, and programmers at DTU. You will refer directly to the director of CACHET.

Responsibilities and tasks
As a post doc in CACHET and DTU you will work within a team of researchers and software engineers developing a data collection and sharing platform for mobile and wearable health technology. As part of this team, your role will be to; 

• survey existing technologies for security and privacy in health data management
• be responsible for the design of a software architecture for ensuring security, privacy, and anonymity when collecting, managing, sharing and analysing person-sensitive health data
• implementation of a 'sandbox' of this architecture for data sharing and analysis (incl. machine learning) amongst researchers
• regulatory advice on legal frameworks for privacy, incl. GDPR

CACHET is an interdisciplinary research center and you will be working with; 

• technical researchers focusing on algorithm and approaches to health data analysis, software architectures for collection and management of health data, sensor and wearable technology, and the design of end-user applications for mobile health (mHealth)
• clinical researchers, medical doctors, nurses, and end-users in the design of privacy-preserving solution for use in clinical practice.

A key role will be to assist and supervise other researchers with respect to legal and regulatory issues, including GDPR.

Qualifications 
We are looking for a candidate with a PhD in computer science or computer engineering with a strong research track record and experience in one or more of the following research areas: 

• security & privacy
• software engineering and software architecture
• distributed computing
• mobile, wearable, and pervasive health applications
• data analysis, machine learning, feature engineering, and health data management

In addition, you have:

• strong programming skills with a demonstrated portfolio of solid software development experience
• strong analytical and academic skills in data analysis and management
• strong oral and written communication skills in English with a track record of scientific publications, conference presentations, reports and/or popular dissemination
• experience in teaching and supervision of students
• the ability to work well in an international academic setting with a variety of different colleagues and partners, including the ability to travel internationally for project meetings

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.

The period of employment is 24 months. The workplace will be DTU Lyngby Campus. The position is a full-time position, starting January 1, 2019, or as soon as possible hereafter.
